Message from the British Tourism & Travel team

Following the recent news that the NEC, Birmingham is being repurposed into a temporary NHS ‘Nightingale’ Hospital for patients with Coronavirus we have made the tough decision to move the British Tourism & Travel Show to the 24-25 March 2021.

With the NEC taking on an important role to help support the NHS during this national emergency, we had no other option but to delay the show until later this year.

We appreciate how hugely important BTTS is to the thousands of businesses that regularly visit and exhibit – including leading tour and travel organisers, GTOs, coach operators, hotels, visitor attractions, DMOs and popular destinations across the UK and Ireland. These businesses – many of which are now closed due to the COVID-19 restrictions – have been hugely affected. It has therefore now become clear that the best and most responsible decision for everyone involved is to wait and host even better show next year.

This industry is resilient, and we know that we’ll all continue to support each other through this, over the coming months. The BTTS team would like to thank everyone – our exhibitors, visitors, speakers and partners – for their continued support and patience, and we look forward to seeing you all at the show on 24-25 March 2021.


Will my badge still be valid for 2021? 

If you have already registered to attend the 2020 show, we will be in touch later this year to reconfirm your details and check if you are able to make the 2021 event.

Will the content of the show remain the same?  

Our aim is to keep the show as close to the original 2020 programme as possible. The show’s exhibitors, partners and speakers support the decision and intend to be available for the new show dates. We will be refreshing the keynote content to ensure it’s current and relevant for you.

Can I change the dates of my pre-paid parking at the NEC? 

If you have already pre-paid for your parking at the NEC, please contact them directly. The NEC will be able to transfer over your booking to the new dates, or refund if you are unable to attend.

I’ve already booked a hotel for the 2020 dates. Will this be refundable? 

Please contact your hotel to try to change the dates. Most hotels have been understanding and transferred bookings to the new dates without penalty. If you used Event Express to book your hotel, please contact +44 (0) 1905 732 737 and they will be pleased to advise you. 

What about travel, will I get a refund on this? 

If you’ve already paid for your travel to the show, contact your train operator. You may be able to get a refund or a partial refund on your tickets. If you booked with Avanti West Coast, you will be able to change your ticket to the new dates. Contact +44 (0) 344 556 1394.
