The multi-award-winning Thursford Christmas Spectacular returns for its 49th production this November and December.
Voted Best Christmas Experience two consecutive years running at the Group Leisure and Travel Awards (2024 & 2025), and Best Group Friendly Attraction at the 2025 Group Travel World Awards, the show promises to bring another spellbinding production to audiences with new costumes, new routines, new speciality acts, a new compere, and much more. Last year’s show received raving 5-star reviews from both critics and audiences, and was seen as the most magical yet. Never one to rest on their laurels, work has already began on the 2026 show, with performances already selling fast.
Starting in 1977 as a small 500-seated carol concert, the show has sold out every year since with the cast, production and auditorium (situated in an old farm shed) growing in size. It is now one of Europe’s biggest Christmas shows of its kind, with a cast of over 120 performers across a 130ft stage. The 1,400 seats remain in demand, including welcoming up to 50 coachers per day throughout its 6-week run.
The complex is transformed into a winter wonderland like no other, with over a million lights, displays, and more, offering a real festive feast for all the senses. With retail shops, catering outlets, free parking, and an Enchanted Journey of Light trail on offer, this is a truly unique trip that goes beyond your standard visit to the theatre. The Enchanted Journey of Light is an optional extra that can be paid for on the day, subject to availability and features an indoor immersive walkthrough and an outdoor trail filled with over 1,000 giant lanterns and sculptures that light up the fields of Thursford.
