We caught up with Discover Durham to find out more about their organisation and exhibiting at the British Tourism & Travel Show.

Tell us a bit about your organisation:

Discover Durham is the groups and travel trade consortium for the county of Durham, showcasing group-friendly experiences and accommodation, as well as bookable products. The new Discover Durham travel trade brochure features places to visit and stay, itinerary ideas and practical information to help you plan a visit.

Tell us what your visitors can see on your stand:

Three of Durham’s top attractions will be joining us on the Destination North East England stand — Beamish Museum, The Auckland Project and Kynren. New experiences for Beamish include the 1950s Town with its cinema, electrical shop, record shop and hairdressing salon, or step further back in time and get a taste of the Georgian-era at the Drovers Tavern. The Auckland Project is a unique collection of heritage attractions, galleries and gardens in the historic market town of Bishop Auckland. Follow in the footsteps of the powerful Prince Bishops at Auckland Palace, discover the region’s industrial heritage at the Mining Art Gallery, explore 6,000 years of British history through the lens of faith at the Faith Museum, and explore galleries home to incredible art at the Spanish Gallery.

Why is exhibiting at the British Tourism & Travel Show an unmissable opportunity for you?

Durham always has something new to discover, and attending the British Tourism & Travel Show enables us to showcase the exciting new attractions opening this summer — Kynren: The Storied Lands, an epic historical day park, and The Light, a sensational new art gallery in Durham City.
